Jersey City foodies rejoice! July 1 is International Chicken Wing Day and to help celebrate, we’ve gathered some of our favorites from fancy restaurants to a hole in the wall. Know of a place we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments.
Wingin It
Sometimes the best food comes from a hole-in-the-wall shop and Wingin It is no exception. Located at 122 Ocean Ave in Jersey City, Wingin It serves up some of the best wings in the city and with one look at their menu, you’ll know why.
Let’s start with the fact that Wingin It offers well over 30 different wing flavors under the banner of “Welcome to Flavor Town,” and you won’t find sauces and dry rubs like this anywhere. Their most unique flavors include Apple, Mango Habanero, Strawberry Habanero, Henny, Chipotle Roasted Garlic and much, much more.
Ghost Truck Kitchen
A JC favorite, Ghost Truck Kitchen not only serves up great and unique wing flavors, they also have a Wing of the Month selection. Here, wings are more like a science, taste tested using homemade sauces. In June, the WOTM was Buffalo Gold, a house buffalo mixed with house honey mustard for a perfect combination of spicy and sweet.
White Star Warren
While White Star Warren, 179 Warren Street, is mostly known for its prime meats, locals keep pointing out just how good the wings are here. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, White Star Warren’s wings are slowly gaining a reputation in the city and are well worth a try.
