Kite Festival at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Take your family and soar to new heights at the Kite Festival hosted at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Uniting S.T.E.A.M concepts, kite-flying traditions, and outdoor adventures, this family-friendly festival takes place on the sports field of Pier 5, the only day of the year kite-flying is open to the public above the Manhattan skyline.
This festival features live entertainment, food and beverages from local food trucks, and kite-flying activities and experiments. Celebrate your family’s kite-flying traditions and bring your own kite, or participate in workshops to make kites in the Caribbean tradition. Waterfront Walks: Brooklyn Bridge History

Embark on a journey to discover the rich history and sustainable design of the Brooklyn Bridge Park’s waterfront with our knowledgeable docents on the Waterfront Walks tour. From the Park’s inception to its present-day beauty, learn about the transformation of the Brooklyn waterfront and how the Park came to life.
Waterfront Walks run every Sunday, from May 28 through October 29 (weather permitting), starting at 10:30 AM and lasting about an hour. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as these tours traverse the park’s beautiful landscape. All tours meet at the Pier 1 entrance near the Lizzmonade stand. Free Zumba in the Park with Dodge YMCA
Where: Pier 6 Plaza, Brooklyn Bridge Park
When: Every Monday, 10 – 11 a.m.
Shake, shimmy, and sculpt your body with Dodge YMCA’s free Zumba fitness classes at the Pier 6 Plaza! Get ready to forget that you’re burning calories with this dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness program that’s a fusion of Latin and International music. This class features aerobic training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms, toning and sculpting your body while keeping you moving to the beat.
Sneakers are recommended for this class, which runs every Monday at 6:00 PM from May 1 through September 25. Advanced registration is required, and we now offer registration by-the-month.
