Asbury Park
One of the best beaches around for families, Asbury Park offers lovely beaches, an incredible Asbury Park Boardwalk, along with many events, activities, and restaurants. Badges are available between 1st and 2nd avenues.
Sandy Hook Beach
One of the closest beaches to Jersey City, Sandy Hook Beach is just over an hour drive or a 40 minute ferry ride from Manhattan. But this isn’t just a beach. Sandy Hook is also a national park, featuring fishing, bike riding, trails and even camping.
Belmar
Another great beach within an hour of Jersey City is at Belmar. Stretching more than a mile the Beaches at Belmar offer something for everyone. From a beach playground for the kids to surf camp classes for teens, to bird watching signs and the wreck of SS Malta on 9th Avenue, there’s lots to enjoy here besides the sand.
