Newport Green Park

While Liberty State Park may be the most popular park in Jersey City, there’s no doubt that for kids, Newport Green Park is absolutely the coolest. Featuring modern playground equipment that will keep the kids entertained until they drop, there’s also a splash park and, yes, even a man made beach set against the waterfront of the city. Host to some of the largest gatherings in the state, Liberty State Park is also one of the most popular parks in Jersey City. But even while you’re likely to see a lot of faces here, there are plenty of quiet places where you and your friends can enjoy a few hours with a view of Manhattan. Located near the Jersey City Museum on Montgomery Street, Van Vorst Park is another favorite park for picnicking.
