As home to some of the New York metro area’s finest dining, an enriched arts, culture and music scene and eclectic shopping and dynamic nightlife, it’s easy to see why Jersey City, NJ has the state’s fastest growing population, according to the 2020 Census.
Helping to fuel an increase of 45,000 residents has been a considerable number of former Manhattan renters lured across the Hudson River to Jersey City where they can find luxury apartments in highly-amenitized buildings that still boast great proximity to the region’s major work centers.
Leading the pack is the Vantage Collection, which has seen a notable uptick in New York City residents since leasing opened for its second offering of 452 homes. Tucked into the waterfront in Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor neighborhood, the 45-story tower offers over 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities and a location near NY Waterway ferry service to downtown Manhattan and blocks from the Grove Street PATH Station. All these attributes came into play when Alex Marshall and his fiancé elected to upgrade their apartment lifestyle in a post COVID world.
Mr. Marshall was living in a high-rise elevator building in New York City when he and his fiancé decided they needed more space inside and out. The couple started searching apartments in Astoria, Bushwick, Boerum Hill and Long Island City.
“We needed more space in our apartment and in the surrounding neighborhood,” Mr. Marshall said. “We wanted a building which was in a quieter area, had homes with a larger kitchen and more closet space and provide access to outdoor amenities and onsite office facilities. We looked across New York and New Jersey, but most apartments did not meet our criteria.”
Undaunted, Mr. Marshall continued his research online where he discovered Vantage Collection. Although unfamiliar with Jersey City, he decided to visit the striking new building and see what it had to offer. From homes to amenities to location, it checked all the boxes.
